Friday is nearly here and we have a whole new slew of recommendations for your weekend.

4/28 - Brouhaha with Alison Swing & Masha - Underground SF

Dig Deeper LA lands in SF this Friday with a back-to-back set from its resident selectors, Masha and Alison Swing. The crew doesn’t bury the lede with its moniker, regularly bringing world class underground talent like Christopher Rau, Lauer, Heidi Lawden, K. Hand, and Jeremy Underground to its parties. Swing is hot off a super well-received pair of sets at Coachella, and Masha continues to impress with her deep selections in the underground LA scene, having been booked at parties like Acid Camp, A Club Called Rhonda, etc. This promises to be an excellent night of high quality grooves.

4/28 - Modular 4 Year Anniversary - Jan Blomqvist & No Regular Play - Public Works

In celebration of Modular’s 4th anniversary, Jan Blomqvist makes his return to San Francisco. Emotive vocals and delicate yet room-filling live synths and pads have made Blomqvist a favorite all over the world. If this weren’t enough Wolf + Lamb’s star labelmates No Regular Play are also on deck.  Ramona Wouters, Pedro Arbulu, Jill McDonald, Matt Hubert and EXV will open.

4/28 - Tensnake & Honey Dijon - The Great Northern

A sweet double headliner is coming up this Friday with both Tensnake and Honey Dijon. Tensnake is a continual favorite, whether his earlier more commercial productions like Coma Cat, or presently, his more profound work like Machines (True Romance Records), or the heavily Italo influenced EP “Freundchen”. You might also know him as having worked on remixes with Lauer, Tiger & Woods, and Mano le Tough. Honey Dijon likely needs no introduction for dance music fans, but expect super classic house sounds influenced via both New York and Chicago and beyond from Honey.

4/29 - Official Movement Preparty with Robot Ears - Developer - Public Works (Loft)

For those of us celebrating being one month out from Movement, Robot Ears has an official pre party with Developer (Modularz) and all three of its resident DJs (Lindsey Herbert, Jean-Phillipe, John Kaberna). Serious techno heads take note - this is a good one if you already enjoy artists like Answer Code Request, Shifted, Reeko, Cassegrain, or Rrose.

4/29 - Andhim - Public Works (Main Room)

The intersection of house, techno, and minimal comes together perfectly for Andhim who will have a four hour set at Public Works this Saturday. Andhim’s roster of remixes (Elderbrook, HVOB, Joris Voorn, Axel Boman, Roman Flugel to name a few) and label associations (Monaberry, Terminal M, Get Physical, Kompakt) should catch anyone’s attention. Recommended for fans of Booka Shade, Kolsch, Superflu, or Crosstown Rebels-style sounds.

4/29 - Oona Dahl - Monarch

For something on the lighter side this weekend, Hallucienda and All Day I Dream’s Oona Dahl take over the rave cave at Monarch. While her particular brand of deep house has gained fans at many an outdoor day party, the great soundsystem will certainly provide a great backdrop to her atmospheric and ethereal sounds. Opel resident Syd Gris, along with Benjamin K (You’re Welcome) and 1Accord will open.

4/30 - Permission to Land with Osunlade, Marques Wyatt, & Galen - The Midway

Day party season is back in full swing, and with a 72-degree day on deck, we couldn’t be more pleased to see that the Midway’s Sunday patio series, Permission to Land has returned. We love the chill vibes, warm Dogpatch weather, and the fact they serve food too. The 2017 debut is coming out strong with Osunlade (Yoruba), Marques Wyatt (Nervous, Om, Strictly Rhythm), and Galen (Sunset Soundsystem). It promises a great way to close out your weekend with some quintessential house sounds.
