6/15 - 6/18/17

Summer is in full swing - here's what's happening.

ed note: Check back Friday for our separate guide to San Francisco Pride's house and techno related musical events.

Who: Icarus & Airpusher with Miss Melera for Planned Parenthood, ft Zita Molnar, Black Velveteen, Jae, Jessica Stanell, Gingerkat, Leyl Master Black, ThuyVu

Where: F8, 6/15

Sounds Like: Jeremy Olander, Henry Saiz, Einmusik, Oliver Schories, Joris Voorn, Vaal.

Recommended If: You like shows for a cause (a portion of ticket sales go to Planned Parenthood!), a talented totally female lineup, progressive house.

Who: Claptone ft Rachel Torro

Where: Public Works (Main Room), 6/16

Sounds Like: Adriatique, Hot Since 82, Mat.Joe, Andhim, Solomun, Adana Twins

Recommended If: You like melodic deep house with disco and techno influences.

Who: The Boombox Affair with Norm Talley, ft Larry Gonnello Jr. & Andy Kershaw

Where: Undisclosed, revealed to ticketholders

Sounds Like: Delano Smith, Ron Trent, Moodymann, Mike Huckaby, Fred P

Recommended If: You enjoy the feel of an underground, sophisticated and soulful Detroit techno and house.

Who: On&On with Pan Pot, ft Lindsey Herbert, Umee-Dee, Adra

Where: Public Works (Main Room), 6/17

Sounds Like: Stephan Bodzin, Gregor Tresher, Pig & Dan, Oliver Huntemann, Extrawelt, Robert Babicz, Dubfire, Kaiserdisco

Recommended If: You enjoy the more melodic and progressive side of techno/tech house with a strong all female opening lineup.

Who: The Juan Maclean ft Tyrel Williams

Where: Monarch, 6/17

Sounds Like: DFA, Lindstrom, Holy Ghost!, Hercules & Love Affair, Simian Mobile Disco, Matthew Dear

Recommended If: You love disco and nu-disco gone warehouse. The Juan Maclean's album material (with LCD Soundsystem's Nancy Whang) tends towards glittering, synth heavy disco, but his solo DJ sets take a well-informed distinctly pure house and techno feel. An underrated selector.
