E. Hernandez is a Texas-born, Oakland-based and non-binary identified producer, DJ, and musician. They hosted the long-running weekly, Mutante, which recently ended after two years. They also are known as Forbidden Colors, and will see multiple projects released in 2019. Among them is a Samuel Delaney-inspired release slated early summer, and an ambient EP currently in the works. They have been a guest of Surface Tension and recently opened for Galcher Lustwerk, and were also featured on the 2018 Gays Hate Techno Compilation. They say of their inspirations:

“…Left Hand Path, Jacktone, Knightwerk Recordings, In Training, and all the Bay Area homies holding it down. Getting to meet other like minded weirdos, it’s also a moment where I can feel my inner voice is being fully expressed.”

The mix collects a wide-variety of club-ready techno, electro, and experimental sounds from exclusively women and queer identified producers, including Bay Area-based ones such as Gayphextwin, Bored Lord, and Erica Mar, plus fresh tracks from artists like Object Blue, Ciarra Black, Ciel, Ectomorph, Violet, Umfang, and Fatima al Qadiri.
