Mix Series: 024 - Sis Girl
Sis Girl is a newly-San-Francisco-based-via-Pittsburgh DJ. They are a resident and co-founder of Pittsburgh’s MESH, an inclusive queer dance party whose guests have included Russell E.L. Butler, Jarvi, Kiddo, and In Training’s MX Silkman & Kiernan Laveaux. The next edition occurs in April with Dana دانا (Chicago) and Fana فناء (Cleveland).
They have been a guest at Honcho Campout, Kosmetik, and girlFX.
“As always my friends and fellow queer weirdos are a constant inspiration. MESH is exciting because I have a platform to show Pittsburgh some really inspiring people artists...[my] biggest reward is getting people to dance but more importantly sharing music with so many different people. The opportunity to showcase and work with other queer people is always super rewarding.”
Sis Girl’s mix ties together oblique bass and leftfield techno sounds from the likes of Beatrice Dillon, Simo Cell, Mor Elian, Ghorba, Overmono’s alias Glyn Hendry, plus the bold 2015 Noise Manifesto collaboration that featured the aliases of Olof Dreijer, Planningtorock, Paula Temple, and Rroxymore.
